The start of the second semester at Pak-Turk Maarif Schools in Pakistan occurred online due to Coronavirus epidemic with the participation of Pakistan Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Mr. Shafqat Mahmood.
Along with Minister Mahmood, Turkish National Education Deputy Minister Reha Denemeç, Turkey’s Ambassador to Islamabad Mustafa Yurdakul, Turkish Maarif Foundation President Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün and Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas attended the online opening ceremony for the Second Semester.
Taking the floor, Mahmood expressed his gratitude towards Turkish Maarif Foundation for providing a high-quality education to Pakistani students and said, “Pakistan is grateful to Turkey for supporting the country not only in education but in many sectors. I would like to thank particularly Turkish Maarif Foundation for continuing to provide education online without any interruption.”
Underlying in his speech that the Foundation was using an important part of its budget for Pakistani schools, Denemeç expressed, “Pakistan has always been important for us. We are always ready to support our sister country.”
As for Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, he explained, “We started online education in a very short time all over the world and are successfully running the trainings in 43 countries."
Providing information about education on a virtual environment, TMF Country Representatives also pointed out that they reached more than 13 thousand students with the distance education system, adopted to protect the health of employees and students, and that they gave a total of 2,800 live lessons per week at all campuses and shared 118 recorded lessons through the system.
